Each summer, a group of Taido students that has numbered nearly 400 in recent years, travels to one of the beautiful beaches around the south to work out with nature. Rigorous workouts in the afternoon of the first day, and early morning of the next day, prepare students for belt tests. The afternoon of the second day is reserved for a fun workout and free time at the pool or beach, and a fantastic banquet and awards ceremony are held that night. Participants create friendships by sharing rooms with other families or individuals. In a review of more than 750 other U.S. martial arts schools, no other reports this large a group and a summer program.
